Terms of Use
These terms describe use of glim and its paid licensing service, operated by Saul Meza in the United States. Contact sweetorangepeeel@gmail.com with questions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use glim or purchase a subscription.
1. The app and its requirements
glim is a Mac menu-bar app that dims the screen around a clear area following your cursor. It requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The installer is free to download, but an active paid license is required to enable the dimming feature.
glim is a visual dimming tool, not a security boundary. It does not prevent another person or software from accessing your Mac or its contents, and it is not a substitute for locking your Mac, controlling access, or other security measures.
2. Your license
An active subscription permits you to use glim on up to three activated Macs. The software is licensed, not sold. Keep your license key private. Do not resell or publicly distribute license keys, bypass license checks, or use the licensing service to obtain unauthorized access.
The app contacts the licensing service for activation and recurring license checks. An internet connection is required at launch to verify a saved license. Connectivity or service failures can prevent activation or interrupt access; uninterrupted or permanently offline access is not promised.
3. Price, purchase, and automatic renewal
The current subscription price is $6 USD per year, billed annually through Stripe. Any taxes and the total charged are shown at checkout. The subscription renews automatically each year unless canceled before renewal. Review the price and recurring-payment terms shown at checkout before paying.
Purchase starts through the Buy option in glim and continues in Stripe checkout in your browser. The license key is sent to the billing email address after an eligible paid subscription is confirmed. Enter that key in glim to activate it. Use an email address you can access.
4. Cancellation and refunds
To cancel renewal, email sweetorangepeeel@gmail.com from the billing email address and ask to cancel your glim subscription. Submit your request before the next renewal and keep the cancellation confirmation. Cancellation stops future renewal. Uninstalling glim, stopping use, or deactivating a Mac does not cancel your subscription.
Refund requests may be sent to the same email address and are reviewed case by case, subject to applicable law. A refund is not automatically promised by submitting a request. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Subscription status and support
Access depends on an active paid subscription and successful license verification. Access may stop when a subscription expires, is canceled, becomes unpaid, or is otherwise no longer eligible. Contact support for license-delivery, activation, or device-limit problems. License recovery uses the billing email address.
6. Privacy
The Privacy Policy describes local cursor processing and the information handled for purchases, licensing, email delivery, support, and website operations.
7. Limitations
To the extent permitted by applicable law, glim is provided as available, without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. No guarantee is made that screen dimming will prevent someone from seeing your information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties, remedies, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
8. Changes and contact
Updates to these terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Any change to an existing subscription's billing terms must follow applicable law and the terms governing that subscription. For support, cancellation, refunds, or questions, email sweetorangepeeel@gmail.com.
